A group of breeders in the State of Washington convened on May 30, 1988 to form a committee for the organization and promotion of the Kinder goat. Thus began the formation of the Kinder Goat Breeders Association, better known as the K.G.B.A. The K.G.B.A. maintains the herdbook and breed registry of the Kinder goat. They safeguard the Kinder Goat Breed Standard and sanctioned shows. The objectives of the K.G.B.A. are:

To promote and propagate the Kinder goat breed
To establish and maintain a breed standard
To establish and maintain a herdbook
To establish and maintain a registration facility
To establish and encourage regional club participation
To coordinate communication and unite the efforts of the K.G.B.A.
